Steps to Becoming a Delegate to the 2012 Democratic National Convention

The Missouri Democratic Party encourages all Missouri voters to participate
in the delegate selection process.
Step 1: Attend Mass Meeting on March 29, 2012
Any Missouri voter wishing to participate as a Democrat may take part in the March 29th mass meetings at 7:30 p.m.
Each participant will be required to fill out a Pledge of Support form (Form MM). Form MM will be available at registration or you may download it online and present upon arrival.
At these mass meetings, delegates and alternates will be elected to attend the next step in the delegate selection process, which is the Congressional District Conventions on April 26. National Delegate Statement of Candidacy & Pledge of Support forms (Form F) will be filled out by each individual at the meeting. These forms are not available in advance. Any participant elected as a delegate at the mass meeting who wishes to proceed to the Congressional Convention must submit their Form F to the State Party no later than April 12, 2012.
Step 2: Attend Congressional District Conventions on April 26, 2012
58 National Convention Delegates will be elected at their respective Congressional District Conventions.
Each Congressional District will meet to elect District-Level delegates to represent them at the Democratic National Convention.
Step 3: 2012 Missouri Democratic Convention on June 9, 2012
At the Missouri Democratic Convention, the state convention delegates elected at the Mass Meetings will vote to elect 19 At-Large delegates and 7 alternates.
Individuals who wish to run as an at-large delegate or alternate must submit an At-Large Statement of Candidacy & Pledge of Support form available online (Form AL) to the State Party no later than May 12, 2012. Party leaders and elected officials who wish to run as a Pledged PLEO should submit the Statement of Candidacy & Pledge of Support form (Form PL) no later than May 1, 2012.
There will be a mandatory National delegate/alternate meeting following State Convention business to elect the Convention Delegation Chair and members of the Convention Standing Committees.
